I Go to the Land Down Under

So, things have been a little hectic at work, at home and in my head. And my hair has been looking really wack.

But I just found out I might be going to Australia for work for a week.

Is it bad that these were the first things that came to my head?

1) Sleep! In a hotel with no baby monitors. Yay!

2) Sleep! 20 hour flight. No baby monitors. Yay!

3) Hmmm, that's going to be a tough week for John managing both kids. But guess what? Yes, sleep!

4) Do I have the right clothes to wear in Sydney? (For when I am not sleeping and actually working). Aren't they cooler there?

5) Do I have any friends I need to look up on Facebook who live in Sydney so we can meet up?

6) Am I cute enough for Australia? Isn't that where Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue and Elle MacPherson are from? Do they all look like that? My ego can only take so much.

7) Oh yeah, and work.

So this post is short. I have too much to get done to prove I am worthy of this trip to secure it.

BUT - just wanted to let you know that on Thursday, I am doing a blog swap with a good bloggie friend of mine. She is funny, blonde and definitely not Indian but she is open to eating curry and so we are cool. I call her my blonde, bloggy twin because we keep finding out that we have some random similarities that are yet to be explained.

Downright freaky.

Anyway - you will meet her on Thursday. Be prepared cuz she's a little spitfire and you won't know what hit you.

XOXO,
Kiran

Jealous. Jealous, jealous, jealous. And those Aussies don't hold a candle to you.

Your blog swap sounds cool. Can't wait to meet her.

Have fun on your trip!

I have found my bloggy twin, too. Isn't it funny?

I have yet to find my bloggy twin. She's got to be out there some where though! Looking forward to meeting yours on Thursday! I hope you have a nice rest full trip too!

Not only do you have to go, you have to EXTEND the trip! For real! No one goes to Australia for a week. Your body will just be adjusting to the time change when the week is up. Go for two!!! *ducks to avoid getting hit by what your husband is throwing at me*

Okay, so I now I know who you-know-who's swap partner is. No offense intended, but you guys aren't too good at this secret-keeping thing. :-)

No baby monitors? And maybe, just maybe, no actual babies? If you choose to auction off the work trip on eBay instead of going, I'll so bid.

LOL. Kate! I know we suck at the secret thing, but what am I supposed to do? She posted something really sweet about me and I can't just sit there and act like I didn't see it. So yeah, maybe the mystery is gone - but it will still be fun.

mwah, mwah!

Quite normal. When I travel (not as exotic as Aussie), the first things I look for:
1. Nearest bookstore - so I can browse for authors not named T. Seuss, S. Boyton, or J. London.
2. Nearest movie theater - so I can see movie NOT made by Disney or staring talking rodents.
3. Quality of beds at hotel - W's heavenly beds for example

Ohhhhh Australia would be so fun. And ummmm I have three kids - and a vacation away... with uninterrupted sleep - that business is PRICELESS!! I hope you're headed down under :)

In answer to your questions...

1-3 - I might have mistaken you but from where I'm standing it seems you could do with a good night sleep?
4. It's fucking hot right now so clothes for warm weather are a must! Sydney-siders are pretty cool, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm an expert at refining the contents of ones luggage - if you need some virtual help.
5. I don't know... but I'm 5 hours up the road if you wanna extend the stay.
6. If you're anything like your cartoon... you'll fit in just fine. There is a lot of tanning going down... mostly of the very fake orange umpa loompa variety.
7. Fuck work

Glad you stopped by!
